Mr.Towarnicki has over 30 years experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, has served as President of three biotech companies and has raised over $200 Million USD for those companies to further the development of novel technologies including small molecule pharmaceuticals, PMA and 510k medical devices and diagnostic assays. He has extensive experience in product development, process scale-up and validation, production operations and marketing and sales. Importantly, Mr. Towarnicki has demonstrated an ability to identify and attract high quality personnel to establish a capable, efficient and focused organization enabling him to successfully raise venture capital and partnering revenues.
D. James Ballance, Ph.D., VP Research & Development & CSO
Dr. Ballance has over 24 years of experience in the Biotechnology Industry, with experience gained within both small biotech and large pharma in early stage research, product development and cGMP manufacturing, technology transfer, and in the management of intellectual property. He has led the development of drug products from conception, through process development and scale-up to manufacturing and has extensive experience in business development interactions with large pharma and biotech companies. Additionally, Dr. Ballance provides invaluable experience and insight to the development of Makefield’s IP portfolio.
Joseph L. Johnson, VP Translational Research
Mr. Joseph L. Johnson, BS, MS, RPh., has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry specializing in formulation and process development, tech transfer and production troubleshooting. He has led the development of both new chemical entities and drug products from the bench scale to full production batches. Mr. Johnson provides significant insight and leadership as well as management oversight of Makefields' product development efforts.
